Support your Chamber at this year's annual General Meeting, which is due to take place on Red Eagle a fleet vessel of the Red Funnel Group. You will be welcomed on board by Directors of the Chamber and members of its Staff. During its crossing to the Isle of Wight members will be asked to take their places for the Chambers 157th AGM after which a glass of wine and canapés will be served.
The crossing to the Isle of Wight is approximately 1hr and you will have the option of disembarking at East Cowes and returning on a later sailing or staying on board and returning on Red Eagle to Southampton. Return tickets will be issued to those wishing to disembark at East Cowes.

After a stressful day, unwind and enjoy an early evening barbecue supper at Chilworth Manor. The Manor and its estate is seeped in history, the overlordship of the estate originally belonged to the crown, but since the thirteenth century it has passed through many generations of families.
The grounds of the house have interesting features; two 'Beehive' thatched cottages, once the lodge entrance, a 'Deer ring' which was used in connection with hunting, a Cedar of Lebonon tree with a span of 150 feet and attractive terracing which gives some idea of the elegance of the gardens which contain many botanic treasures. An evening not to be missed.

Undoubtedly one of the most popular Chamber events is the Chamber's Boat Show lunch which this year will be taking place on the VIP/Press day and we are pleased to announce Geoff Holt, Inspirational Yachtsman & BBC South Sports Personality of the Year, will be this year's guest speaker. Geoff Holt became an inspiration to thousands when he completed his 'Personal Everest' challenge. He sailed 1,445 miles, solo around Great Britain in a fragile 15 foot dinghy. Hailed an extraordinary and courageous achievement, Geoff is a passionate yachtsman who uses a wheelchair. Paralysed from the chest down at just 18 years old after a swimming accident, Geoff secured a place in the history books on 5 September 2007 when he completed his courageous feat of endurance to become the first disabled sailor to go around Britain single-handed. As someone once joked, Geoff is now the most admired disabled sailor since Nelson!
Recognition of Geoff's achievements came swiftly. He was voted BBC South Sports Personality of the Year (2007) with a record 57% of the public vote, the highest-ever winning margin for the BBC South Awards. Geoff was also short-listed for the prestigious Yachtsman of the Year (2008). In an incredible twist of fate, Geoff realised while celebrating his record-setting circumnavigation that he has finished his 'Personal Everest' challenge exactly 23 years after his life-changing accident - an extraordinary co-incidence. Geoff's 'Personal Everest' story is highly motivational and told with humour, thoughtful insight and great photographs and film footage. He has faced adversity, challenged limits and continues to inspire others to maintain a positive attitude no matter what the challenge ahead.

Join us for our October networking lunch at this magnificent country house hotel, situated in the heart of the New Forest National Park which is seeped in history its name being mentioned in the Doomsday Book - how's that for history!
Built originally around the 1800's as a private house/hunting lodge it was transformed into the building you see today at around 1850. The building was commandeered during both World Wars, and during World War One was used as a field hospital, some local Brockenhurst inhabitants still remember injured soldiers being wheeled on luggage trolleys from Brockenhurst Train Station to the Hotel. In the Second World War the hotel was transformed into an ArmyStaffCollege and some of the "Orders for the Day" were issued from the Hotel for the "D Day" invasion.
